There is always something new in the world of antiques. The business is constantly changing. some vendors leaving and others coming in to fill their spaces. We are always trying to improve ourselves here at Mantorville Square. The pictures here are from a new booth that has just opened in January at the Square. This booth features some very nice primitives. We have just gotten a new computer here at the Square and we are now able to be on the internet right here. This will allow us to be more active in posting new information. There are lots of things in the plans for 2008 in Mantorville. One of the many activities coming up soon will be the annual Mulligan Stew supper on Thursday, March 13 at the Hubbell House in honor of St Patrick’s day. This has become a great winter event, with a great stew supper and a rousing live auction to follow. Make plans now to attend.
If you haven’t been to Mantorville this Holiday season, there is still time. There are plenty of really great last minute gift items available in the stores. You can park right in front of the stores and enjoy the personal service that is only a memory in most towns. Most of you know about the Hubbell House, but did you know that Mantorville has not one, but two new places to eat. Now you can enjoy the hospitality of the County Seat Cafe on Main Street as well as the Old School Cafe located one block west next to the Grand Old Mansion. Mantorville is a holiday treasure just waiting to be discovered. Bring some friends and take a break from the stresses of crowds and traffic and come out to Mantorville. Mantorville Square has 25 dealers offering a large variety of antiques and gifts ranging from Red Wing pottery to vintage clothing to fine furniture, glassware, and jewelry. If you are looking for a last minute gift, you can choose from a large selection of Milkhouse Candles, fabrics from Park Designs, cute little stocking stuffers from Blossom Bucket, Amish baskets, a huge assortment of ceramic chickens, rustic iron and wood items, and many other interesting things. Be sure to stop in and say hello when you are in town.
It is Christmas time in Mantorville. Merchants have filled their shelves with a wonderful assortment of interesting gift ideas. Old Fashioned Christmas is just around the corner on December 8. Plan now to make the short drive out to Mantorville and see what’s new (or old in the case of the antique stores) Stop to eat at one of the restaurants, buy some chocolate, look at vintage clothing, antiques and gifts at Mantorville Square, visit the artists, look for interesting antiques at Memorabilia. Stop in at Mantorville Square and say hello and tell us if you saw this posting on the internet.
We have another new line available at Mantorville Square. We have rearranged the rear part of the Square to accommodate the large inventory of costumes we have for rent. There are Halloween costumes, Western costumes, Renaissance costumes, animal costumes, gypsies, clowns, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Little Red Riding Hood, Cleopatra, Frankenstein’s monster, and the list goes on and on. We have more costumes than you can imagine. If you are thinking about Halloween, New Year’s, a themed costume party, a parade, a play, or any other fun event where you need a costume, come to Mantorville and see us.
What’s new is “old hat” at Mantorville Square. We are always looking for ways to bring more interesting and different things to Mantorville Square. We have been busy adding a selection of vintage clothing. If you haven’t been out to Mantorville for a while, come by and see us and see what we have been doing in Mantorville. We are always looking for more interesting items to add to our offering. Our newest addition is a line of Amish baskets. These baskets are handmade be Amish families in Southern Minnesota. Many of these baskets are signed by the makers. The baskets are a practical and unique gift idea. Come out to Mantorville and see all the things we have to offer. We have several new dealers with many one of a kind antique items. Hope to see you soon. Also be sure to mark down Old Time Days on June 24 in Mantorville and also plan to attend the Harry and Nancy Naatz antique auction in Mantorville on June 23. Watch this site for more details and pictures as auction day approaches.
All these fine pieces of furniture and more are now on sale at Mantorville Square. If you haven’t been out to Mantorville lately, come on out an see us soon. Lots of things are happening in Mantorville this Spring. Now that Winter is finally over and the tax season is behind us, we all want to start over. What better way to leave your winter blahs behind you, than to take a journey back in time to a place where you can still park in front of the store and where the storekeepers still can take time to visit.
